In addition to the thematic section of each issue, which is designed at the invitation of the editorial team or by CALLS, there is an open forum section in which texts on topics of intercultural philosophizing are published. All forum articles are openly accessible as offprints on the website for a period of one and a half years after publication.
We cordially invite you to submit articles with an intercultural philosophical focus (see start page).
In principle, we accept articles in any language. You can see from which languages we have translated texts into German and published in polylog via the search page.
The article should not have been published elsewhere and should not have been submitted elsewhere.
The texts must be submitted in an anonymized text file (doc(x); odt; etc.) at submissions[at]polylog.net and must comply with the guidelines for authors in order to be included in the review process. Please provide personal information (name, contact details, institutional affiliation) in a separate file.
Timing:
All contributions will undergo a blind peer review process. You will be informed of the results of the review process after approximately two to six months.
The texts are assessed according to the following criteria:
1) To what extent does the contribution take into account the current state of research?
2) How does the paper contribute to create further knowledge on intercultural philosophy and is it innovative?
3) To what extent are methodology and argumentation consistent and does the paper fulfill the expectations of the title?
4) How does the paper contribute to critical self-reflection and the overcoming of dominant structures of thought?
5) Does the paper reproduce stereotypes or racialist structures of thought?
Based on these expertises, the editorial team decides by simple majority whether a contribution is
- accepted without revision
- returned for revision or
- rejected.
As polylog is published twice a year, you should allow between six and twelve months for your text to be published. The process is extended accordingly for translations.
