In Fujairah in den arabischen Emiraten, wurde 2023 ein Haus der Philosophie eröffnet, das das Ziel verfolgt, sowohl Philosophie generell, als auch speziell die arabische Philosophie einem breiteren Publikum zugänglich zu machen.
Das »Philosophy House« organisiert internationale Konferenzen, Philosophiekurse, sowohl für studierte Philosoph:innen als auch für Kinder sowie Sommer/Winterschulen und Philosophieclubs und verfügt über eine große Bibliothek. Darüber hinaus werden in einem eigenen Verlag auch Bücher publiziert, beispielsweise ein Philosophielexikon, Werke über arabische Philosophen wie beispielseise Ibn Sina oder Ibn Tufail, thematische Werke und auch viele Bücher zur Philosophie für Kinder.

House of Philosophy« is a cultural institution of its kind launched from the Emirate of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates to formulate, spread and educate rational awareness. At the House of Philosophy, we believe that philosophy is the enlightened mind that seeks to understand the reality around us to discover questions and how to answer them, believing that philosophy aims to create awareness through the logical answers to those questions to better enrich our lives. Believing that the experience of civilization is a continuous process and in constant development that includes all levels of life and creativity, we decided to enrich the pioneering Emirati experience and be an important scientific supplement to inform the present and future generations. Our Mission

We seek to be the first cultural institution to work on the flourishing of philosophical thought towards an enlightened and conscious reflection, and to be the emirate of Fujairah as the capital of philosophical culture in the Arab world.

Spreading moral and aesthetic values and enlightenment in order to create a cultural elite that thinks in its reality in a sound systematic way, and to draw the paths of happiness, which is one of the most important strategies of the UAE with the distinctive of philosophy of a tolerant systematic mind.

From the heart of Fujairah

The idea of the »House of Philosophy« was launched to be a meeting point between local and global thought, rooted in the UAE’s ancient cultural heritage, and inspired by Fujairah’s vision as a knowledge beacon seeking to enhance its position on the global
cultural map. Through this edifice, we aspire to bring Arab and Emirati philosophy to wider spaces, where we combine originality and contemporary in presenting philosophy as a tool to understand the world and analyze the current challenges. We believe that Fujairah,  with its history and local culture, is able to lead a global philosophical dialogue that serves humanity and consolidates the values of wisdom and understanding among peoples.

From kids to adults.

We believe that philosophy is not the preserve of a specific age group, but an intellectual journey that suits everyone, even children. Philosophy helps them think critically and creatively, teaches them to ask questions and explore the world around them. Through our dedicated programs, we strive to make philosophy a tool for learning and growth at all stages of life, from a young age.
